Art in the Park Entertainment 2009
Below you will find a list of some of the entertainers performing this year.
THE CANTRELLS: The Cantrells have been touring and performing their original folk and bluegrass music in concerts and festivals since 1985. Their performances feature Emily Cantrell's songs, her voice, her strong rhythm guitar (especially her swing style), Al Cantrell's contest-winning fiddling in traditional, swing and Irish styles, their duet harmonies, "fiddlesticks" ("playing the straws") and the wide variety of cover tunes from traditional bluegrass to Broadway musicals. They are currently based in Nashville, Tennessee.
The John Andrews’ Band is this year’s Friday night headliner for Art in the Park starting at 6 PM. Come listen and dance as this foursome takes you back to that good ol’ rock and roll of yesteryear along with current rock and country. Very popular in the area, this band performs quite often at special occasion venues. Drummer and namesake, John Andrews, attributes the success of the band to the great talents of lead guitar/vocals of John Montoya, the bass guitar/vocals of Mark Harrington, and the lovely Kim Lorengo on keyboards/vocals. Each of them, along with high energy drummer John Andrews, combine to form a special blend that provides a great show. See you there!
Rob Quist: Rob Quist, a rancher’s son and native Montanan, is recognized as one of the West’s best known songwriters, composers and main stage performers. In the words of Ruth Mills, Reviewer of the Reno-Sparks Tribune, “Quist keeps the audience enthralled—not just loud clapping and hooting but rapt attention to songs sung by a man deep into his music—the originality is astounding . . His band is a combined musical talent bank putting together a sound unlike any other heard in Country Music today!”
Tribute to the Everly Brothers: Tom Blankenship and Dave Oltrogge bring Don and Phil's story to life with the trademark two-part harmonies of the Everlys' biggest hits.
